Phase II Requirement General Information

In Phase II, a student will produce an “artifact” which requires the student to apply the knowledge and skills relevant to the course content standards in order to show a deep understanding in a real-world context.

The State Board of Education CDM policy states that the artifact may be of any type, ranging from three-dimensional to paper-based to electronic to oral interviews. Specific expectations for the type of artifact are left up to the discretion of the local school system.

For general purposes, artifact requirements will include a project as well as a presentation to the CDM Review Panel. Projects will include course content specific requirements which students will be given at the beginning of the CDM Phase II process.
